Over the course of your business life you'll come in contact with a number of other business people. They could be lawyers, business services, suppliers, customers, etc. These people are important to your business in more ways than one. Yes, you may have hired them, or they bought your product or service. You can also gain their business knowledge, experience, ideas, and advice. How do you do this? Stay Connected! Network! Networking is when two or more different businesses stay in contact on a regular basis to build and improve each others business.
Consider all the benefits you'll gain from talking to other business people:
-Knowledge or information that you didn't have before
-Advice on how to solve a current business problem
-Leads to a new business project or opportunity
-Joint ventures and cross promotion deals
-Learn important skills that you didn't have before
-Constructive criticism that improved your business
-Brainstorming that sparks a profitable business idea
-Encouraging and motivational statements
Their are many ways to meet business people. Join business clubs and associations. Participate in online business related forums, e-mail discussion groups, and chat rooms. Go to business expos and trade shows. There are other ways use your creativity to come up with more.
If you have the time, start your own networking group. You could hold meetings at a local seminar room, at a park , or at your own business building. If you want to hold meetings online use a private chat room. Publish a print or e-mail newsletter to keep members informed of meeting time and dates.
Keep all your business associates' contact information all in one place. Have it organized by business type or profession for easy finding. So when you need some advice on a new marketing campaign you can call that marketing expert you met at that trade show in Ohio a couple of weeks ago.
Networking is a surefire way to build a successful business. I have used it countless times and will continue to. The Internet's Top Selling Product by Dr. Bill Nieporte
Recently I received an invitation to attend a local PC Users Group SIG (special interest group) devoted to the topic of ecommerce. It was an open forum--but since I was the only guy making money on the internet, I seemed to get a fair amount of attention.
I shared the "big three" of internet marketing. Let me make it clear that I didn't invent or even discover this simple formula--it was revealed to me in Ken Evoy's great book "Make Your SITE SELL!" ( http://allaboutsuccess.sitesell.com/).
What are the "big three?"
1) Develop a GREAT product that is positioned for Web sales. 2) Build a site that sells with deadly effectiveness. 3) Attract targeted traffic to your site!
When I laid out this simple formula one of the participants asked: "Dr. Nieporte, what do you mean when you speak of a 'product that is positioned for Web sales?' What kinds of things sell best on the Internet?"
That got me thinking! Fact is, you can sell anything on the Internet. People are selling lotions, pills, potions, stocks, homes, cars, sports items, comic books, autographs, cookies, steaks, and even Chicago style pizza (delivered straight from Chicago--but without any 30 minute guarantee:-)). Your site can sell almost anything if you have a site that sells.
But what is the BEST product to sell online? Without a doubt the best product to sell on the web is information! Here's why!
1) You Can Share What You Know!
One of the best success stories I've ever read was about the 15 year old with a six-figure annual income. His product? An ebook titled "How I Win At the Game?" The young man was a whiz at a popular video-game. He learned "hundreds" or tricks to getting the "top-score" every time he turned on his computer.
Here's what he did! He collected all his secrets and published them in an e-book format. He gave away the first few chapters--and sold an unlock code to get the balance of his information. The boy earned over $100,000.00 in profit in one year! Not bad, eh?
He sold what he knew! What information do you know (or can you learn) that others might pay to learn? That's the best product you can market on the internet!

I've only mentioned three of the benefits of selling information on the internet. There are others. The right product can lead to back-ends orders. The right system of selling can provide you with hundreds of affiliates to serve as your sales-force, marketing that information.
