Today's marketing writer offers us some "magic" words to use in our ad copy. Here are a few more ideas from "Wild" Bill for backing up the ads:

Is Your Offer a Bargain? Present the Facts! by Wild Bill Montgomery

Listing specific facts will aid you in backing up your claims. But, listing them is not enough; you must also know how to present the facts. You can't just spew them out at your prospect like an erupting volcano. They must flow like a steady, slow-moving stream. Here are some pointers to help you in proving your offer is the one for them:

1) Dramatize Your Facts: Example: John Doe invested the last $50.00 of his savings in our program and now John makes over $5000 a month in his spare time!

2) Use "Human Interest" Facts: Present your facts in a clear, straightforward and interesting manner. Write in everyday language that people can understand. Don't get too technical. Don't present the facts from your point of view, rather present them from the prospective customer's point of view.

3) Be Specific: Convey all the details that are relevant to your product or offer. How did your product originate? Why was it created? Why is there a need for your product? How can product help them? Give details. Be specific!

4) Use Testimonials: Show you prospect how your product has helped others. Let them see what you product has done for other people in their own words. Get signed statements from your satisfied customers. Use a "diverse" list of testimonials from as many different sources as possible. Use full names and addresses whenever possible.

5) Give a good reason for your price: Whether your price is higher or lower you have to explain why. Make it interesting and convincing. If what you're offering is of better quality or offers more benefits, tell them. What you say can explain why your price is higher than your competitors. If your price is extraordinarily lower because you have an over abundance of inventory, be honest about it. People will buy your product at the price you set, if the reason you give is presented properly.

Destination Success

A few weeks ago I got a phone call from a fellow asking about Success Coaching. He wanted to know if coaching could really help him achieve success.

Experience tells me the answer is "yes." In the 3 1/2 years I have been a professional Success Coach (and the 20 years of study and work experience to get here!), I have found some particularly powerful routes on the Success map. They seem quite straight-forward, though this doesn't mean it's an easy trip. You can have a map and know the path but if you never take the trip, you won't get to the destination.

Here are five routes on the success map, to help you on your journey in business and in life. Your coach's job is to help navigate and work with you to:

1. Know what you want. For some of you this may sound basic. You might say "I want money" or "I want success." However, the key here is to be very specific about what you want. For example, "I want a 20% increase in net profit" vs. "I want higher profits."

2. Have a clear purpose. Know the reason for which something is being done.

3. Understand and use intent. Intent is one of the most underrated aspects of success. Your actions have to be packed with intent -- is your mind concentrated, firmly resolved on a purpose? Out of intent is born will. It's a process of exercising the mind with conscious intention towards initiating a chosen action, i.e., set your goal, see it complete, and go!

4. Establish commitment. This is the action of binding yourself to a course of action. Dedication is part of this. You may not know what to do but if you are committed to being successful, you'll find out how!

5. Clearly articulate how your service, product, or experience will benefit you, others, the world. I call this "knowing your story." Until you really know your story, it is difficult to enroll others. It doesn't matter what you are presenting: financial services, healthcare, cars, or software. You need to convincingly express the value of what you do.

It doesn't matter what area of life you choose. Business, family, community, social. If you want to reach the destination of success, this map will help take you there.

Take this self test. Choose a specific context (business, relationships, family, etc.):

-->Do you know specifically what you want? -->Is there a purpose or reason for doing it? -->Is there clear intention of action? -->Are you truly committed? -->Have you clearly articulated the benefits to yourself and others?

If there's something missing or you find yourself with a flat tire, seem to be driving around in circles, or running out of gas, a Coach may be able to get you back on your road to success.

The trained eyes and ears of a good Coach help you see where you are on your journey. They'll assist you to clarify your direction, layout the route, encourage intentional action, and get over obstacles. Heading out...destination Success.

How You can use MAGIC Words to EXPLODE your PROFITS

Are you using MAGIC words in your Online Marketing Campaigns?

What, magic words? You say.

Well, let's examine how this can work for you.

Webster defines Magic as...

"the use of various techniques, as spells, charms, etc., that presumably assure human control of supernatural powers. any extraordinary or mystical influence, charm or power."

Man, that says it all!

If you are to succeed Online you MUST be able to "assure human control" in your ads, webpage content and sales letters.

Effective marketing in any arena has to take control of your target audience in order to pull in the sales. After all, that's the name of the game. Although you will not be *casting* spells, you must take control of your audience's attention.

The Internet, on the other hand is the new marketing media where the power of the written word is *King*. The spells and charms that you cast must be in the form of POWERFUL words and phrases. The magic is in the words that you use and how you use them.

"What's in this for me?"

This is the question that you must always answer in your advertising content. Satisfy this question up-front and you'll on your way to stardom (that's money in bank). Accomplish this task by using the MAGIC words to *link* audience into your ads, webpage content and sales letters.

So what are these magic words anyway?

Actually it's really two magic words.

"YOU" and "YOURS"

You are the most important person involved in this article. The word "you" is why I am writing this article. Use it in your headlines, ad copy, webpage content and sales letters. Using these magic words will help you to get your audience *involved* in your marketing materials. These magic words really *speak* to the inner being of your audience and put them at ease.

As simple as this may seem, these Magic words are often omitted from much of the marketing materials that I see *flowing* around the Net.

A couple of days ago I was browsing though the AOL classifieds and you wouldn't believe what I discovered! Of the first 100 ads that I scanned, only 23 contained the Magic words in the headlines. That's only 23%!
